Tips Merekam Video dengan Kamera Foto DSLR Full HD

Anda tahu kamera DSLR? Itu loh, kamera "fotografer" :D
Di tempat saya istilah kamera "fotografer" selalu mengacu pada kamera DSLR, padahal tidak semua fotografer menggunakan kamera DLSR untuk memotret.. :D
Nah, beberapa tahun terakhir ini muncul model kamera DSLR yang mampu merekam video, FULL HD lagi. Jadi kali ini saya akan memberikan tips-tips untuk merekam video dengan DSLR.

Mungkin 2 tahun lalu masih janggal ya melihat orang menenteng DSLR tapi malah merekam video namun sekarang sepertinya itu sudah pemandangan biasa. Bahkan rumah-rumah produksi pun sudah menggunakan kamera DSLR untuk membuat video klip.

Berikut tips-tips yang perlu anda ketahui seputar merekam video dengan kamera DSLR:
1. Sediakan media penyimpanan tambahan
4GB memory card anda akan terasa sangat kecil kalau digunakan untuk merekam video. Ada baiknya sediakan memory card tambahan atau harddisk external untuk menyimpan hasil rekaman

2. Atur settingan sesuai kebutuhan
Jika anda ingin membuat video dalam resolusi standard (SD) maka aturlah video ke resolusi itu. Jika anda set ke resolusi HD, maka itu akan menyusahkan saja karena harus convert ulang ke resolusi SD, dan pastinya lebih boros memori

3. Sediakan batere cadangan
Ketika berada pada mode video, kamera DSLR pastinya lebih menguras daya batere. Jadi batere cadangan mutlak diperlukan disini.. :D

4. Perhatikan settingan framerate
Semakin besar framerate memang akan membuat gerakan di video halus. Tapi hal itu juga memperbesar ukuran file. Di indonesia, kita gunakan standard PAL jadi video tersebut bagusnya di set ke 25 fps.

5. Perhatikan durasi rekaman, jangan terlalu lama
Kamera DSLR memiliki sensor image yang sangat peka panas. Jika sensor ini sudah mencapai temperatur tertentu, maka akan di shutdown otomatis oleh kamera untuk melindungi sensor dari kerusakan. Usahakan untuk merekam maksimal 10 menit untuk 1 file video.
Dari sifatnya ini, maka kamera DSLR sangat pantang digunakan untuk merekam live event, yang mengharuskan kamera ON terus berjam-jam lamanya.

6. Perhatikan goyangan (shake) pada video
Kamera DSLR sangat rawan akan shaking pada rekaman videonya. Untuk meminimalisir goyangan, anda bisa menggunakan beberapa alat berikut ini:

Being that my 20-in. Sony Trinitron TV only has one A/V input, I ended up deciding to get an A/V selector so that I could plug my new DVD player into it. Originally, though, I was thinking of getting Sony's SB-V40S. But then I found that Terk sold this one for about half the price, and it was literally identical to Sony's except for one thing: Terk's A/V selector has gold-plated connectors. And being that this helps prevent rust & improves signal transfer, it was easy to make the decision to purchase the Terk VS-4.

The instruction manual I looked at on Terk's web site doesn't mention it, but I noticed that this selector is magnetically shielded, allowing me to place the VS-4 anywhere I want to. Also, the rubber feet underneath it prevents it from moving around on top of my cable box (where it's located). No matter how many times I use it, it never moves. I LOVE THAT!! In short, I'm disappointed that Sony charges double the price that Terk charges. That's why Terk got my money, and Sony didn't.

I purchased this A/V switcher to connect an S-Video DVD player and the S-Video on my Nintendo Wii to the same TV. The problem with most TVs and S-Video is 1) there's only one S-Video connection on the TV, and 2) the audio that accompanies the S-Video is generally only at the first A/V channel. The A/V switcher solves this problem by allowing more than one S-Video device to connect to a single S-Video TV.

Lightweight, Somewhat Cheaply Made Product: This A/V switcher is so light that a few cords can tip it or pull it from your entertainment center to the floor. Be sure to position it well.

Not Powered: A powered A/V switcher should produce better quality video. Thus far, I have noticed little if any difference in the quality of the S-Video with this switcher.

Ease of Use: The change from DVD player to video game console is instant and as easy as pushing a button.

Overall, I recommend this product because it does the job well and there's little to no noticeable decrease in the quality of the S-Video. Read the reviews of other A/V switchers, and you'll see that many are problematic. This one works great.

Regarding two of the comments above- Gold plated contacts, while nice, are really just a marketing scheme. I've never had a contact rust- ever. And as far as increasing signal quality- I'm sure that's true, but at this price level, it's not enough to matter. So if you are using top of the line equipment, gold contacts may be worthwhile. But if you are looking at a $22 switcher, it probably doesn't matter, because you are probably using low-gage cables that came free with your $59 VCR. That said, it's obviously not a bad thing that the cheaper product has gold contacts- it's just not a selling point.

Regarding the second point- that this switcher doesn't "mix" composite and s-video- that's actually a GOOD thing. Splitting a composite signal to a s-vid connector without some sort of power behind it will actually degrade the signal. (You can go the other way, though.) I have a semi-professional Sony switcher I use in my video production business that does not perform this function because it's unpowered. If you want a switcher that performs this function, you need to make sure it's powered- no matter how much it costs.

I will probably purchase this switcher to augment my Sony, because I actually NEED to be able to keep the S-Vid and composite signals separate. (I have a Toshiba monitor with both inputs, but no way to switch between them- plug them both in and you see both signals.)

If you need a cheap switcher to switch between a DVD and Satellite Reciever, this is probably a great option. But don't expect it to do anything it shouldn't at this price level.

I paid about $30 for this light. It charges fast, works way longer than other lights in this price range, IT DOES COME with the bracket to mount it on your tripod threads. A little cheap, but made of metal and quite useful. My camcorder has a widescreen display and you can angle the bracket forward so the light will not hit the screen. I got this so I could record in fairly low-light conditions, the kids, etc. Does what I need for cheap. **To the people who say it has a green tint to it. #1 its $30 - go see what a professional color correct light costs, then complain. #2 Most cameras and camcorders have what is called a "WHITE BALANCE" setting. Auto usually does ok, but if you are getting funky colors, manually set it by holding a piece of WHITE paper in the light you are using, fill the frame and hit 'set' however your camera does it. And presto! The colors should be much more accurate than before. Learn how to use your equipment!

I just got mine a few minutes ago and pulled it out of the packaging. Boy is it light and seems bright to me. I haven't done much testing with it. I have it on the charger now and will give it a workout after I get a full charge on it.

As far as the color it seems warmer than most LED lights. I have a few LED lights (round tent camp light and some flashlights) and it is much warmer than them.

It feels cheap and plasticy which it is but it has a clever design. It comes with a mount for a hot shoe and the shoe is all plastic which I like because you don't have to worry about it shorting out anything on your camera. The bottom of the shoe has a 1/4-20 thread mount too. Granted it is only plastic but the whole thing is so light I don't see this being a problem. The other three sides on the light have a hot shoe slot (well a non hot shoe, just a shoe). This means that you could hook another light to the Sima or several to create a multi-light setup. The lights would work separately so you could switch one light on, both or either one.

The diffuser seems to work quite well.

I could see having a bunch of these to bring with for tricky lighting setups in small areas. Trying to light inside a car this thing would be perfect. Tape on a gell if you need it and use a small suction cup with mini ball head on it or even just stick it on the dash.

Pros:
- dead simple to use
- amazing bang for the buck
- great light weight and decent run time
- clever design with hot shoes built in and included little flash bracket thing for camera's without a hot shoe that do have a tripod mount

Cons:
- no dimmer
- non-replaceable battery pack
- no standard battery option (like AA option)

Optical SteadyShot with Active Mode
This feature ensures smooth movement while recording footage in many challenging shooting situations. In addition, Sony's innovative 3-Way Shake-Canceling technology adds electronic roll stability for even smoother video capture. This latest version of image stabilization technology realizes images that are up to 10x steadier for wide angle shooting than conventional Optical SteadyShot images. As the user zooms in, an intelligent digital image stabilizer starts to blend in and work together with its optical counterpart to effectively reduce camera shake. This technology also reduces shake in the rolling direction that commonly occurs when shooting while walking.

Manual Lens Ring with Assignable Parameters
Using the assignable lens ring, users can manually adjust key parameters like Focus, White Balance, Exposure, AE Shift, Iris priority and Shutter Speed priority. Users can control the G Lens iris to create an out-of-focus effect in the foreground or background. Shutter speed can also be controlled to create special effects, such as the flowing motion of a waterfall or bird wings in flight etc.

Long Operating Time with infoLITHIUM-L Series Battery
The HXR-MC1500E camcorder uses standard infoLITHIUM L series batteries, which are compatible with many of Sony Professional's camcorders and accessories. The largest capacity battery (NP-F970) provides a maximum operating time of approximately 13 hours using AVCHD recording in FH mode.

Ergonomic Handle & Controls
The ergonomically designed handle contains a convenient record button and zoom control, essential for low position shooting. There are also cold shoes on the front and rear of the handle, which allow for the attachment of two different types of accessories.

Flexible Operation with Consumer Memory Cards
The HXR-MC1500E supports recording directly onto Memory Stick Pro Duo or SD/SDHC cards (please see Specifications for compatible memory cards). This makes it convenient and economical to obtain new media in almost any location. In addition, a large capacity 32GB solid-state memory comes built into the camcorder body. This combination of removable and built-in memory is especially convenient when shooting a corporate event or wedding on the move. When content has been backed up to a hard drive or downloaded to a PC for editing, you can simply reuse both the removable memory cards and internal memory for your next assignment.

AVCHD: Ideal for Memory Recording
AVCHD is a highly efficient data compression format which greatly reduces memory requirements, maximizing the benefits of file-based recording with high image quality in a small file size. This is made possible by the exceptionally efficient MPEG4 AVC/H.264 codec. Many consumer electronic devices already support AVCHD playback, and more are on the way. Numerous major NLE software programs feature AVCHD input and editing.

MPEG-2 for SD Recording Format
The HXR-MC1500E's Standard Definition recording format is MPEG-2, which is the same compression codec as standard DVD video discs. If your project will end up on DVD, then using this format can save you production time and maintain the original image quality.

DVDirect & Direct Copy
When the camcorder is connected to the optional DVDirect Express (VRD-P1) DVD writer via a USB cable, a single press of the One Touch Disk button is all it takes to burn video footage directly onto a DVD--without using a PC. This model is also equipped with a downconversion function that enables DVD burning to SD picture quality. Users can play back a DVD they just created simply by pressing the Play button on the DVDirect Express when the camcorder is connected.

With Direct Copy you also have the option of quickly and easily backing up valuable video data on an external hard disk drive (HDD)--without using a PC. Simply connect the camcorder using the supplied USB adapter cable (VMC-UAM1).
